Sweet Aloha Ice Cream is hosting an in-store fundraiser at its Davie, FL store location on behalf of Plantation Park Elementary 5th Grade Class on February 14, 2023, coincidently Valentine’s Day. Customers can support the fundraiser activities anytime during normal operation hours. “Funds raised will help pay for field trips and end-of-the-year activities for students”, says Yami Cortilla, a PTA member coordinating this fundraising event.
For most, the recent economic outlook has appeared bleak and despite a slight recovery in inflation and gas prices, schools, and their PTA/PTO member-led organizations, rely on community businesses to support necessary fundraiser efforts to support student enrichment programs and initiatives. Sweet Aloha Ice Cream, through its commitment to community engagement, fills this gap by hosting in-store fundraiser events and participates during school events to help raise the needed funds.
“Because of our location off State Route 84 and Pine Island, our customers are comprised of members of multiple nearby communities, Plantation especially. Community outreach is important to us and our corporate mission. Hosting or supporting fundraisers allows us to stay engaged but also help spread the aloha spirit.”, Jimmy Anderson, owner says. It is a sweet collaboration for the students, the schools and Sweet Aloha Ice Cream.
